Dear Tang Soo Do family,
In order to create a worldwide family of Tang Soo Do practitioners we should not compete but co-operate with each other. In this respect the EMTF would like to invite you, to participate in the forthcoming World Tang Soo Do Championships in Rotterdam, in March 2009.
It is intended that the event will be free from all politics, and create an environment of joint collaboration providing a unique opportunity to learn from and meet the Sabum Nims, Kyosa Nims and friends internationally.
Since its inception the EMTF has hosted many international championships and seminars and the participants have always commented that the atmosphere and attitude of friendship and belonging is more apparent than the desire to win. But, this has never been at the detriment of the combined desire to train hard and win. We hope to welcome you in March.

The World Championship in March has collected 1100 euro for Ronald McDonald charity House. During the championship, the entry for spectators was one euro. This money was for the found. SBN Rob Salm handed the money over to enthusiastic volunteers of the new Ronald McDonald House in Rotterdam. Many families travel far from home to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children. The treatment may last a day, a month, or even longer. It's a long time to be away from home, or to divide a family. Families are stronger when they are together, which helps in the healing process. By staying at a Ronald McDonald House, parents can also communicate better with their child’s medical team and keep up with complicated treatment plans when needed. |
About two years ago, after much deliberation, there was decided to establish a world Tang Soo Do organization. It wasn’t simple to find a fitting and appropriate name for this. But as almost every organization talks about being one Tang Soo Do family, and at the end only uses this term in words, we decided to use it for the organization. We left the often appearing names like ‘World’, ‘International’, ‘Association’ or ‘Federation’ behind and we finally found the fitting name in ‘Worldwide Tang Soo Do Family’. The emblem that we picked out isn’t the often used terrestrial globe. No, we chose a compass for it. A compass in which all wind corners are present to point out each part of the world. A compass that will point out the right way in our Worldwide Tang Soo Do Family. The certainty that this was the appropriate name for our organization, seemed to be completely right. The world championship on 20, 21 and 22 March was a good example of the meaning of our new world organization. How can it be otherwise with a great family like this?! More photo's added!
